It starts right at home for many ladies. Getting the consent of parents who worry about safety as well as social stigma .....
16th October 24
In crowded streets, I walk alone,
A sea of faces, yet none I've known,
Their laughter echoes, but it fades away,
For deep inside, there's a price I pay.
The world is vibrant, so full of life,
But in my heart, there's a quiet strife,
The colors blur, the sounds are still,
No warmth can fill this aching chill.
I travel far, I meet and greet,
But in each step, I feel defeat,
For something's missing, a silent scream,
A piece of me lost in a distant dream.
The world spins on, it doesn't see,
The empty space that's part of me,
Though I have it all, there's a hole inside,
A void that no one can ever find.
25th October 24
I left my cozy, comfy couch today,
And ventured out, far, far away,
To where the jungle meets the sky,
With waterfalls that sing and sigh.
The leaves were green, the air so pure,
A hidden gem, a perfect cure,
For weary minds and tired souls,
In nature's arms, I felt whole.
The water danced and gleamed so bright,
A sparkling show in morning light,
The jungle whispered soft and sweet,
With every step, my heart skipped a beat.
No longer stuck in four small walls,
I found my joy in nature’s calls,
A trip so simple, yet so grand,
In waterfalls and lush green land.
23rd August 24
In my twenties, dreams unfurl,
Of travel round the whole wide world,
But creaky joints and tired sighs,
Make me feel a bit too wise.
I plan to hike the Himalayas high,
But first, a nap—I close one eye,
Eiffel Tower, a sight to see,
If only these old bones agree.
Beach in Bali sounds divine,
But sunscreen now feels like a sign,
Of aging skin and tired feet,
My twenties now, an odd defeat.
A world tour, I'd love to try,
If I could just get up and fly,
But here I sit with aching back,
Dreaming big, but lacking the knack.
(23rd July 24)
In a land of frost and powdered delight,
Where mountains soar to dizzying height,
I dream of skiing down slopes so steep,
Where snowflakes dance and memories keep.
Away from emails and meetings so bland,
I crave a journey to the mountain grand,
With skis in hand and boots so snug,
I'll glide through snow, feeling so smug.
No more traffic jams or crowded streets,
Just crisp, clean air and frosty treats,
Among peaks that touch the sky,
I'll find my peace, oh me, oh my!
So take me where the snowflakes fall,
To a place where winter reigns over all,
Where I can play and laugh and roam,
In mountainside bliss, my heart finds home.
(24th June 2024)
My eyes are fine; they are just printing words small.
I just use a walking stick to seem stately and tall.
Nothing is wrong with my sense of smell.
My ears are fine if you don't whisper but yell.
The wrinkles are just laugh lines; they will go away.It is fashion that has turned my hair from black to grey.
It's the cold, not age that is stiffening my knees.
I like to hum as I walk; it's not a wheeze.
What extra kilos? My scale is broken down.If I try,
I can still fit into my wedding gown.
My bones don't creak; my shoes are new.
My memory is sharp. Oh, do I know you?
(18th May 2024)
Waves come crashing to grey sullen shores.
Powerful and strong, it breathes and roars.
Cascading and caressing each grain of sand,
A warm embrace between sea and land.
High above, a seagull soars high.
Wings of purity it spreads to fly.
Battling high against darkened cloud,
In a wind that blows fiercely, flying graceful and proud.
Beneath, the sand is soft and warm.
Sculpted by nature, it's weathered the storm.
A passionate battle between calmness and rage,
A new chapter's beginning; don't turn the last page.
I listen again to the whispering waves,
Music of nature calming and brave.
Its power unknown, its stillness untamed,
Mysterious and magical, a treasure earth claims.
(22' March' 24)
Shimmering lakes of silvery ice
welcomes skaters' scarring slice.
Hills adorned in lacy white
watch children sleigh into the night.
In the brilliant pristine light,
snow birds in tall trees take flight.
Evergreens draped in capes of snow,
their heavy branches hanging low,
blanket earth as north winds blow.
Winter's dance is quite a show,
an ice-kissed, dazzling, magical place,
transformed by winter's cold embrace!
(1'April'24)
I want to travel around the world for fun,
And see different lands, one by one.
But I would not like to travel by aeroplane, train, or by car -
I would like to have a magic carpet that will take me afar.
I will keep the carpet under my bed, rolled upright,
So it will be easy to reach, when I want to take flight.
I won’t need to get a passport, or buy a ticket when I want to fly,
I’ll just sit on my magic carpet, and wave everyone good-bye!
I’ll cross rivers and valleys, and the snowy Himalayas so tall,
And fly to faraway China to see the Great Wall.
Then I’ll float to Egypt, and visit the great Nile,
And see the pyramids, and the Sphinx’s mysterious smile.
I’ll travel to the African jungles where wild animals roam,
And visit European cities like London, Paris, and Rome
But on my magic carpet, before I eagerly set out,
There’s something that I’m a little worried about.
I keep thinking of it, again and again –
What will happen if my magic carpet gets caught in the rain?
I’m sure that soaking wet carpets can’t fly far away -
So, to travel for fun, I must find another way!

Music travels all around my body.
Now I can say it's living right through me.
Listening to music puts me in a good mood;
It makes me want to stand up and start to groove.
Music can make me forget all of my pain.
It brings out the sun when I can only see the rain.
I put on my headphones and play all of my songs.
I could listen to it all day long.
Music takes me to another place,
Higher than the sky and far away from the space.
There's nothing to compare to it in the whole world.
It wouldn't even be better than my favorite girl.
Music can teach you many lessons,
Like stand up for your rights and all the good reasons.
I know there are people who think the same way
Because they know music lives in us every day.
(23'March'24)
It was a sunny bright evening, an evening so calm,
The kind of evening that was inviting me with an outstretched arm.
So I decided to spend an hour doing almost nothing,
Sitting and enjoying the best of what nature could bring.
Getting up from my chair, I thought I'd take a stride
Then there was a bumble bee that suddenly came by my side.
There was a kind of music as the bee flapped its wing,
Music so perfect that no one could ever sing.
Walking little further, I spotted a butterfly
Which was hovering over the flowers and then soaring high
And I came to the conclusion as I was on my knees,
Not the richest of queens was dressed like one of these.
My evening hour in the garden was very well spent
And now I know what beauty and music really meant!!
